Windows actually warns you that it may not have found the latest driver – as in the screenshot in your first post. Common sense says that Microsoft cannot possibly update its database instantly with tens of thousands of drivers from an enormous numbers of suppliers. I don’t know if HP do this but Intel may report that its graphics driver has been modified by the PC manufacturer so you need to check with them.
Posted 06 April – PM. I have not had good luck using the latest Intel-supplied drivers for my Asus motherboard. I have a Pentium with HD graphics. The driver from the Intel site often causes my machine to awake from sleep with no video. This generally requires a shutdown to fix. If you get the driver from Windows update, it’s supposedly been verified by the vendor. I have often received BSOD’s from using the Intel Download Center to update the graphics driver to a newer version that the one recommended by the manufacturer.
