I came to the conclusion that this will not be a speed course for Photoshop, that it will take some time to work through. If anything has been left out, I’m not sure what it could be, from what I saw, this book hasn’t missed a thing. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to know everything imaginable about Photoshop.
I followed the instructions in the book to set up the folders for the lessons on the disc that came with the book. Then I tried to do lesson 1. Immediately I had trouble. My software does not have the welcome screen in the book, or an organizer, or a file on my hard disc called “My Catalog. The online help had a video for the catalog — but it was for Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.
The online information about getting started with the organizer contradicts the instructions in the book. I’m sure the rest of the book is out of date as well, and I will return it if I can but probably I can’t, because I opened the envelope containing the disc of lessons. If I had wanted dig around in forums and other web sites for everything I need to know, I never would’ve bought the book.
Now that software developers have stopped including manuals with their products, how can you learn? With a product like this book. Takes you through all product features, and you can pick and chose which sections to dig into or skim.
