Thanks again, and great that you found the article helpful! Everything is good now and computer is back to normal, and I re-partitioned my HD so all is good. Sometimes however, a virtual machine is not up to the task.

This is what you need to do. These instructions are provided for educational use only and without guarantees. If you lose data because of this, blame yourself, and only follow them if you know what you are doing.
You’ll need some info on the position of partitions on the disk. You’ll need to start by changing DiskDescriptor. I have included my original xml and the changed xml in this gist for reference.
You probably renamed your disk file the. If not, you should. Also update the name of your disk in the xml file. For me these partitions are disk1s1 and disk1s2. You can get the UID of the partitions by running diskutil info disk1s2. Example output:. Note that this is different for every partition. You should make sure there are Storage entries for every partition on the disk. You can find these in your gpt -r show output.

Thank you for replying. Yes it is one single hard drive divided into 4 partitions. This is what Microsoft describes as a method. Sorry for the bad news …. When converting, you may be able to move the empty space to the end of the disk as well. Thank You for replying.

Now where are all the arm apps? Hopefully, they get ported over time. Side note, I tried really hard to get this working for Fedora 36, but couldn’t get Parallels Tools to work. Bonus note, the speed of the system is much much faster using a M1 Mac vs mac mini with 32gb of RAM on x86 architecture. I figured they would be similar, but I was wrong.

The Boot Camp partition with Windows to create a Boot Camp-based virtual machine. Parallels Desktop for a limited time, click Try Free for 14 days. I usually work on a Mac, and when working under Linux or Windows, I resort to Virtual Machines (VMWare Fusion / Parallels Desktop).
