When I uninstalled Ms office pro plus on the machine Windows 7 , It did not uninstall completely. It is still showing in Start- All Program- Micro When I click on that it shows it’s only short cut. Then I tried to install MS office pro plus I got one pop up “complete installation require restart machine”, When I restart machine, I saw MS office is not installed.
Please help to resolve this issue. I re-installed the ms office 5 t0 6 times but still it’s not installed. If you look at the article I linked to in my reply from February, you will find that it contains a link to manual uninstallation of Office.

Out of nowhere I realized today that MS Word’s icon was flipped to the “shortcut” icon and does not work anymore. I tried opening Excel to see if it works but it opens up windows installer and shows the “preparing to install” window with the cancel button, it stays there for a while and then an error message pops up saying the below:.
