In GP3 you will probably end up flipping the car, but in this game, nothing. Overall, I love this game and it has replaced GP3 as my primary F1 simulation. I would love to check out the update to GP3, but unforunately it isn’t available in the US. If you’re looking for an updated F1 simulation and don’t feel like waiting for Grand Prix 4, this is worth adding to your collection. The EA F1 series has evolved from the arcade style battles in previous versions, to a more refined sim in F1 2K Championship.
But it never hit the immaculate car control and AI as Grand Prix 3. Sure EA’s F1’s had better graphics and greater detail on the amount of cranes trackside, but GP3 can’t be matched in terms of brake feel, steering feel and acceleration. Then came F1 The audio in this game is worth it to anyone who watches Speedvision early Sunday mornings waiting till the red lights drop. As for the sim aspect, great set up control that finally rivals GP3, very user friendly displays and more adjustments possible on your aero and mechanical grip sections.
The manual states that the driveablility was modeled after comments from the BAR team wouldn’t that mean slow by this season’s standards But they may have over engineered in terms of oversteer, because it seems like you can’t get rid of it no matter how much rear deck lid you put on the car! I think not, but a good improvement that makes me hope that Geoff Crammond and crew can ante up and create a real winner with GP4, but until then I’ll be happy with EA’s offer.
I took special care to make sure my PC meets the recomended requirements to run this game on outside of box. I spent hours trying every differant setting possible to make this game run , I never was able to make it work. The retailer where I purchased it would not let me return it and would not even let me exchange it for a differant game instead they gave me another copy of the same game saying it may have been a bad burn?
Not so , same exact problm all over again! My system far exceeds the recomended requirements on the outside of box. So unless you have a more powerful stystem and a grphics card with 64MB mem. I would stay far away from this. They dont tell you on the outside of the box that you may have to spend hours updating drivers to make the game work.
F1 is simply one of the best racing sims on the market, the other two being , Official one racing by eidos interactive, and the other being F1 ,predecessor to F1 Grandprix 3 is a fake, because cars get hit so hard until their axle come off, but the racer that hit you just keep right on going, like nother never happened.
