I knew there had to be a gotcha! I’ll look into this. My campus bookstore used to have this for sale, but a phone call said they didn’t have it. I’m not sure she understood the words that were coming out of my mouth though. Does it really suck that it doesn’t come with upgrades? Upgrades cost, what, like bucks? I’m pretty sure minor tweaks would update when you run your normal software updates in System Preferences. Ask the Apple education store rep. I don’t get it. Is that actually a discount? And I did the Ed discount for Microsoft Office. Yeah I can’t upgrade, but there are always updates. I haven’t found the need to go beyond where I am yet. And if I do I can always just buy a new version. I guess the same thing applies here.
It’s a great deal and what does it matter if it doesn’t come with an upgrade path? That’s no “catch,” that’s a bargain!
It’s a hell of a deal. Wish I could grab one. The low end of the discount is the same as the Apple Store for Education, and the highest discounts are for larger schools. That’s even cheaper than most single AU instruments out there, for all of Logic Studio! I’m a student living in wales, do you think I would be able to get logic at this price?
