To be able to connect with simple AD user account credentials, along with a simple pre-shared key, the steps are very simple. In the adapter window, click on the adapter with the name you created in the VPN window Click on Change settings of this connection.

We have been trying to overcome the same problems with MX64 and making an outbound rule entry in Windows Defender Firewall is what helped us. We are constantly plagued by our VPN connection losing its settings as well.
I’m not sure if this it relates to change in WiFi, but the people that it occurs with do seem to be people that change WiFi often.
Others who are using it from one network at home seem to not have the issue. In any case, I am constantly connecting to users who are remote and fixing their settings. We have seen those same settings and we hear there may be a Meraki VPN Client or Cisco AnyConnect Client that is Meraki compatible in the near future, but that has also been ongoing for like 3 to 4yrs now. Once it comes out, should be a moot point on Microsponge changing your settings.
I have seen the same issue though, seems to be mostly tied to Microsoft and the firewall flipping the network to public and effectively blocks like everything so you can’t connect. Only way we have gotten it to work is when on that network, switch it from Public to Private, reboot the machine and possibly also the network router you are using and then it works, and yes you are sharing when connected initially to that network, but once on the VPN, tunneled into your network and secure again.
Fingers X’d on the client coming out vs WinDoze client. Branch there was a window update that broke this last week. This week there is a new update that fixes it.

There are three ways to do this. Through the AnyConnect server MX : If profiles are configured on the dashboard, the MX will push the configured profile to the user’s device after successful authentication. Profiles can also be pushed to the following paths:. Manually: Profiles can also be preloaded manually to the same paths as listed above.
The profile editor can be downloaded from the AnyConnect Settings page on dashboard or on cisco. Refer to this link for more details on AnyConnect profiles. The profile editor only runs on Windows operating systems. The screenshot below shows a configured server ton the Server List Entry option.
When configuration is complete, save the xml profile. It is recommended to use a unique file name to avoid profile overrides by other AnyConnect servers, t hen you can upload the file to the profile update section on the AnyConnect settings page. Always-On operation prevents access to Internet resources when the computer is not on a trusted network, unless a VPN session is active. Enforcing the VPN to always be on in this situation protects the computer from security threats.

If anything it is getting worse. Today, started a support call to see if there is any better fix, and I’ve been listening to hold music for well over an hour. Could the lack of a working VPN client be contributing to the super-long hold times we’ve all been experiencing lately? That firmware is still BETA, and who knows when it will be out of beta, but that should actually resolve the issue.
Supposedly some of the MX being shipped already have v16, so it should be close Comstasis we are using v16 on most of our MXs and it is perfectly stable in our experience. We do still have a few devices on v15 that we haven’t upgraded yet and one on v17 and they are all also stable. Hey folks, Quick note to let you know that Windows 10 seem to have the horrible tendency of removing the security option every time you disconnect from VPN, reboot your PC, do updates, click the mouse on the Desktop or look away from the screen.
Make sure you have “Require encryption” selected and under “Allow these protocols:” tick “Unencrypted password PAP ” This should theoretically help as well. I have 2 firewalls connected to the same modem: a Meraki MX64 and another from a different brand. About a month ago, some users complained that they could not complete the download of a 1. I haven’t imagined that it could be a broader issue, so I asked them to restart their computers and try again. A couple of days ago however I got that same issue with another user and decided to further investigate.
She wasn’t able to download the file and would get an error after about 5 to 7 minutes of downloading the file, according to her. On the following day though, when I was trying to develop a robocopy batch to help her out with the download process, the same issue started happening to me over and over.
I tried uninstalling all the security software on my laptop and it’d still drop the VPN connection during the file download. I tried downloading other large files and would get interrupted in the same percentages for each file. Check the security centre to ensure you are not tripping some IPS signature that is killing the transfer.
You may be experiencing issues with asymmetric transfer times especially if the user has an asymmetric Internet circuit, such as down and 20 up.

Hi everyone, I’m having a very particular issue. Over time they’d eventually be able to download that file and stop reporting that issue. I tried downloading the same file from my laptop and it did work fine.
Surprisingly, I got a similar issue. I also tried checking the MX64 logs and Windows Application logs, but haven’t found any clue. Today I did some additional testing and tried downloading a Mb file 3 times. Did anyone had a similar issue before? All forum topics Previous Topic Next Topic.
