I hadn’t used my camera for such a long time, what with the convenience of cellphone and iPad cameras, that I haven’t got around to looking for a later version for my new computer, but I did download Irfanview.

I’m looking for something with which to compress my photos though, and Irfanview doesn’t seem to have anything included. On the Canon website they only have some very basic importing software called Camera Window.

Even Picasa seems to have been replaced by Google Photo, or something to that effect, without any compression faciltities Or am I just overlooking it?? Do I really have to look for yet another piece of software just for compressing images, and if so, what are you using?? If you go back to the Canon support page and manually select something like Windows 7, it brings back the older software. Could be worth a try to see if this still works under W10 – but at your own risk!

It might work in compatibility mode, but from what I’ve heard and the little that I’ve used it myself, Win10 is much less backwards compatible than previous versions.
